Daylesford's Massage en Masse
Daylesford, Victoria confirmed its reputation as Australia's spa and wellbeing capital when it smashed the world record for the largest ever simultaneous massage. Gathered together at Lavandula Lavender Farm on the 30th of March 2010, 263 qualified therapists massaged 263 volunteers for 12 consecutive minutes in a record attempt inspired by the international photographer, Spencer Tunick.
A stunning display
Surpassing the previous record by 96, the attempt created a visually stunning display of bodies across the picturesque grounds of Lavandula Lavender Farm and highlighted the community spirit and dedication to natural remedies throughout the Daylesford region. 'I've seen a whole lot of wonderful events around the world,' said Mr Sheedy, the Guinness Book of Records adjudicator, 'but during the past decade I have never seen such a beautiful record attempt.'
