Temporary exhibitions

The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia presents a full and diverse program of special temporary exhibitions. The NGV's curatorial team work with national and international colleagues to provide Melbourne audiences with the opportunity to view extraordinary works of art. Refer to the What's On screen for details, in the main foyer on the ground floor.

Programs for everyone

A range of lectures, floor talks, workshops, tours, films, performances, children's activities and special events inspired by the NGV's exhibitions and collections are available. Programs cater for diverse interests, different age groups and all abilities and can be tailored to specific needs run by experienced staff.

Special access viewing by arrangement or guided tours for all abilities on late-night openings are all available.

Audio tours

A tour highlighting the architecture and including insights and highlights of NGV's permanent collection. Available for hire from the Information Desk for a gold coin donation.

A tour offering a very different perspective on the NGV's Australian collection with unique tour guides, NGV Ambassadors and much loved comic duo, Roy and H.G. Available for hire from the Information Desk for a $5 fee.

NGV Members

NGV Members provides individuals and corporate with special access to the NGV through a program of special activities, events, private exhibition viewings, Gallery magazine and online access.

The Members' Room is located on the Level 1 mezzanine. Enquire about joining NGV Members at the information desk in the main foyer on the ground floor, or join NGV Members online.
